We are very happy and proud to share the news that Professor Marco Casagrande, Vicepresident of the ISB, has been awarded the prestigious Global Award for Sustainable Architecture by LOCUS Foundation and Cité de l’Architecture & du patrimoine, under the patronage of UNESCO.
The other recipients of this 9th Global Award are Jahn Gehl, Santiago Ciruceda, School of Architecture of University of Talca, and the collective Rotor.
Every year, the Global Award rewards five higly talented architects who share the ethics of sustainable development and have constructed an innovative and holistic approach. The goal is to gather these masters in, and help speading their innovative ideas.
The theme selected for the Global Award 2015 is “Freedom of Thought”, in honour of critical spirit, for the sake of a needed, profound reform of architecture.
Marco Casagrande has been selected for his multidisciplinary methodology and his theory of the Third Generation City, and his biourbanism approach —including, among others, the tool of biourban acupuncture, and worldwide works like Paracity.
